In a letter to Leslie Dewy Van Valkinburgh from his mother Helen Louise Elizabeth (Bower) Van Valkinburgh/Franklin, dated Aug 14, 1928, Helen mentions E. H. and his wife Marjory had come to visit. Eber referred to her [Marjory] as "a real help-mate", unlike his first wife who was a real hen peck.

I will assume that they were married sometime before this date as they had an infant/toddler they left in the care of a nurse for their trip to Chicago, Eber flying a plane and Marjory bringing the car to pick him up.

NAVVF Vol I and II 1999 update shows Gertrude as 2nd wife. Letter from Helen Louise (Bower) Van Valkinburgh / Franklin Quotes Eber as saying [Marjory] was "a real help-mate", unlike his first wife who was a real hen peck.

Unless he had 3 wives Gertrude was #1 and Marjory was #2, therefore I do not know which wife to attribute the children to. I will put them with Marjory at this point (6-13-2006)
