James B. Born on May 20 (7?), 1842, in Fifeshire, Scotland. Soldier in Civil War. Married Mary J. Dixon on October 3, 1866. She was born on April 6, 1843, at Hartford, N. Y. She was the daughter of John and Rebecca Allen Dixon. She died on June 12, 1928. Children. Was elected Collector of Newport Township. Was a Justice of the Peace. Died on November 19, 1921.

Alexander
Born on October 28, 1844, in Scotland. Married Eva R. Dixon. She was born on August 16, 1851, in Newport Township. She died on August 28, 1940, at age 89 years (obituary). Children: Earl D., born about 1874; Martha J., born about 1876; Elmer. Was blacksmith in Millburn. Died on January 14, 1931, of pneumonia.

Sergeant James [B] Murrie
Company C; Age 20 years; born in Scotland; enlisted from Newport as private; promoted Corporal May 25, 1863, and to Sergeant Aug. 1, 1864: was wounded in foot in battle of Dallas, Ga., May 27 1864. losing a toe, but rejoined the Regiment Sept. 17, 1864; and was present at final muster out. In 1885 was a prosperous farmer and influential citizen in Antioch, Ill. P. O. address, Millburn, Ill.
